Our Dandies

We are quite new converts to Dandies, having got our first Dandie in 1999. In 2003 we got another Dandie puppy and then another in early 2005! Then in 2006 we successfully bred from one of the girls and kept her daughter from the litter. So our current tally is 4. Let me introduce you to them -

Tilly
Needwood Tittle Tattle
Born on 9th March 1999

“How all her care was but to be fair,
And all her task to be sweet.”
Sir William Watson

Tilly’s mum was Needwood Tittlemouse (Crumpet) and her dad was Ch. Abbeywater Magic Memory at Wenabarr (Hamish). She is a wonderful little dog – always happy with a continually wagging tail. She loves to play especially chasing after balls. She is very affectionate and adores cuddles particularly tummy tickles (which seem to be a Dandie trait). She is extremely clever particularly in training us to do what she wants! As she is now the grand matriarch, she likes a lot of ‘personal space’ and can be quite horrified when the puppy climbs in beside her to sleep!

Bonnie
Dawsholm Gowden Rose
Born on 19th September 2003

“From fairest creatures we desire increase,
That thereby beauty’s rose might never die.”

Bonnie’s mum is Dawsholm Wee Lisette and her dad is Ch.Mosterlada Golden Loon. I got her from my very dear friend and Dandie mentor Celia Danks. Although I love all my dogs equally, Bonnie has a special place in my heart. She is a very family orientated dog and absolutely adores her chosen circle of friends. She has done really well in the show ring, she is a brilliant dog to train both in obedience and agility and to top it all she successfully gave birth to 3 puppies in 2006. Bonnie is top of our canine pack and is a dog in a million!

Purdie
Dawsholm Cantily Cantie
14th December 2004

“What shall I call thee?
I happy am,
Joy is my name.
Sweet joy befall thee!”
Blake

Purdie is Bonnie’s full sister from a later litter. She is a wonderful dog - easy going and charming. She has an extra-ordinary presence which is difficult to describe. She went through the obedience grades very quickly and moved up into the advance class before she was 14 months old. Purdie showed her true kindness when she had 3 rowdy puppies of Bonnie's pulling and tugging at her – she just spent hours letting them climb over her without any complaint or growls. It was a joy to watch.

Daisy
Gryfindor Silver Rose
Born on 17 July 2006

“Bliss was it that dawn to be alive
But to be young was very heaven”
Wordsworth

Daisy is extra special to me – my first home bred bitch – her mum is my Bonnie and her dad was Ch. Cassencarrie Chimaera. From the first week of being born, she was always the first smiley face over the side of the basket – she always seemed to know she was staying. Since then she is developing into a lovely strong personality with no fear. I look forward to seeing her grow into her own person over the next years.
